Whether you’re coming to King Valley from the north or south, this wine region offers some of that area’s best wine, food and accommodation. Indulge your senses while relaxing in luxury at the foot of Australia’s incredible Alpine region. Take in panoramic views, stroll the vineyards, visit the cellar doors and learn the history of Victoria’s famed King Valley.
But for now, relax and take a moment for your second while we take you through the most stellar King Valley winery accommodation.
The King Valley Wine Region
Only three hours north of Melbourne – a few hours more if you’re coming from Sydney or Canberra – the King Valley area is host to an impressive set of distinct attractions. The region’s strong Italian influence stems from the tobacco farmers who chose the district in the early twentieth century for their crops before moving on to – you guessed it – wine! Accommodation in the area still boasts this history with luxury and boutique hotels that are among the best in Victoria.
Take a leisurely drive down ‘Prosecco Road’, which extends from the King Valley township towards Wangaratta and sample the sparkling wine the region is best known for. Drop in at the esteemed Brown Brothers cellar door and hear how they’ve been making wine for four generations over the last 130 years. But don’t forget to book a place to stay – you’ll want the best King Valley winery accommodation to make for the best experience.
King Valley Winery Accommodation
Here are three of the best hotels providing luxury accommodation in the King Valley wine region. They combine comfort with outdoor delights: rooms that open onto views of vineyards, and local wines and produce that it will take no effort to reach. Time to explore. . .
Mt. Bellevue, Myrrhee
For accommodation with the best views in and of King Valley’s wine region, you have to check out Mt. Bellevue. Their three-bedroom Alpine Cottage is attached to a working vineyard where you can relax and literally watch the grapes grow.
They offer standalone, self-catered accommodation with total privacy with up to six guests. Check in and have the whole farm and vineyard to yourself with incredible views over Myrrhee, King Valley and up to the Victorian high country.
You’ll receive a bountiful hamper on arrival and detailed information on things to see and do while in the King Valley. The Mt. Bellevue cottage is close to all the highlights of the region. Stay in and relax by the wood fire or enjoy the views from the outdoor entertaining area for al fresco dining.
Every season offers something different but right now is the best time to book your winery accommodation stay at Mt Bellevue.

Casa Luna Gourmet Accommodation, Myrrhee
Casa Luna is unique among King Valley winery experiences. Not only do they offer alfresco dining packages, but they take the flavours of the region, with Italian-inspired, locally sourced ingredients for dishes that perfectly match the Italian wine varieties grown in the area.
Their ‘Dinner with Bed and Breakfast’ comes with a three-course menu matched to local wines, with a cooked to order breakfast in the morning
But our pick has to be the ‘Petanque, Assegni and Asti’ package.
The first night’s dinner is fresh pasta and a select group of Reds, followed by cards and more wine in the glass-walled lounge. In the morning enjoy breakfast followed by a vineyard walk and tasting experience. After a little free time, you’re taken to learn Petanque on your very own court – silver ball in one hand, glass of Asti or Prosecco in the other. Then enjoy an Italian banquet dinner served family Style with matched wines and, on the final morning, an Italian-inspired breakfast.
All meals are taken care of by co-owner Gwenda Canty. Book one of their packages directly and get a Prosecco Spritz on arrival and the best rate guaranteed.

The Lancemore, Milawa
The Lancemore Milawa offers some of the most incredible hotel packages in the King Valley. The Lancemore group are famed for their luxury hotels and have won numerous awards. They are almost unmatched for accommodation experiences – they know exactly what they’re doing and how to make your stay memorable.
For luxury King Valley winery accommodation, they have you covered: watch the sun dip over the Brown Brothers’ vineyard from the Sunset Room. Take in the surrounding mountains from the Buffalo View Room. Let the smell of flowers and clean country air flow into your Garden View Room. Or go all out and book the Spa Suite, with its own view of the countryside, enjoy some bubbles – both in the spa and from the sparkling! – and settle down by the cosy woodfire.
It is, as they say, a “tranquil country house hotel brimming with elegance and style”, with Luxury Travel Magazine rating it one of the Best Regional Hotels. With a restaurant serving gastronomic delights on the terrace dining, a comfy and bright guest lounge, and a striking swimming pool – what more could you ask for? Another glass? Mmmm, why not. . .

Lusso KV, Whitfield
Lusso is the Italian word for luxury – so how could we not include it on this list of boutique winery accommodation? Nestled in the King Valley township of Whitfield, this building is newly designed and built, so make sure you get in soon to be one of the first to enjoy it!
Features include a two-story loft-style building with bedrooms above, kitchen and lounge below. The sleek interiors fit perfectly with the central rustic recycled red brick fireplace. Built to resemble the kind of tobacco kiln this region was famous for, it sleeps up to eight guests, with 3 King bedrooms, with Master ensuite and one other large bathroom. The space is open to natural light and views of the vineyards beyond.
Make Lusso KV the base for your King Valley cellar door excursions, with Dal Zotto and Pizzini only a short drive to the south, and Gracebrook and King River estate very close to the north.

Glenmore Springs, Cheshunt
Glenmore Springs on Upper Valley King Road offers a combination of the rustic side of the area, with all the trappings of a luxury winery accommodation stay. They have large spaces, perfectly suited to cater for large family or corporate events in their communal settings, or they can set you up for an intimate little getaway.
The King Valley Kiln is our pick for that intimate farmstay. The rooms have been converted from an original tobacco kiln and using selected, 100-year-old timber, it gives a feeling of having travelled back in time. With epic views of the surrounding ranges and the farmland below, outdoor barbeque and entertaining area.
Glenmore Springs looks incredible in the Autumn months but can always be enjoyed the whole year round. There are few places that can offer winery accommodation that is little slice of Tuscany below the Australian Alps, but this spot is definitely one.
